first_imgYesterday’s leaked renders of HP‘s upcoming Palm Topaz and Opal tablets are now being further fleshed out by some rumored specs.According to Engadget, who previously posted the leaked renders, the Opal will be the 7-inch webOS tablet, while the Topaz will be a 9-incher. The Opal will boast a TFT LCD running at an iPad resolution of 1024 x 768, while the Topaz will be in roughly the same ballpark.Since HP now owns Palm, speculation is that HP will squeeze some of their Beats audio processing into the tablets, as seen in their Envy line of laptops.Other rumors flying around include the notion that HP will give each webOS tablet owner “tens of gigabytes” of free cloud storage. Additionally, like previous Palm webOS devices, the Topaz and Opal will come with a larger version of the Touchstone for wireless charging, as well as “bump” functionality that will allow you to send media and documents between webOS tablets and phones by just knocking them together. You know, I hate to say it, but HP’s new tablets are both looking and sounding pretty good? Could the Opal and Topaz be the first bonafide challengers to the iPad‘s crown?Read more at Engadgetlast_img read more
