first_img Middlesbrough have opened talks with Valencia for Alvaro Negrado Middlesbrough are set to offer Alvaro Negredo a return to the Premier League, according to reports in Spain.Boro boss Aitor Karanka has reportedly spoken to his compatriot about a switch to the Riverside and the north east club have now begun talks with Valencia.According to Mundo Deportivo, Negredo feels he has unfinished business in the Premier League after he was shipped off on loan to Valencia from Manchester City in 2014 before signing permanently for the La Liga club a year later.Negredo made a stunning start to his City career, scoring 23 goals in his first season, but he fell out of favour with manager Manuel Pellegrini in the following campaign and was swiftly moved on.Boro have made signing a striker with Premier League pedigree their top priority this summer and have been linked with a shock move for Robin van Persie in recent days.However, it now appears the newly-promoted club are fully focused on securing Negredo and hope to complete a deal by the end of next week.Boro are looking to add experience to their ranks after winning promotion to the top-flight and are also looking to land Neven Subotic.The Serbian centre-back announced last month that he will leave Dortmund this summer and could be set for an £8m move to the Riverside. 1last_img read more
